I have always wanted to create a tarot deck that had a simple icon or image to describe the card. I’ve started working on one!! Not sure if I should keep the same color scheme or go for a different one for each card. Hmm…

So I couldn’t use the Magician image in the last cover because of copyright reasons. I decided to use one of the marco images I took with my ipod lens for the new version and he liked it! I like that the crystal fracture of the ball is visible but you can’t tell that its’ a crystal ball – an icon of fortune telling.

My brother gave me Photojojo’s Macro/wide lens for christmas and I love it!! I’m having so much fun taking photos of the crystals and minerals at work, they come out awesome!!

So Alex wanted a menu using a full sheet of paper too, so here is what I’m working with right now. Not sure if its’ there yet. Also he wants me to do a photoshoot of the psychics there in January! First professional photoshoot ever. I’m excited.

Alex – my boss or the “Guardian” – at the Tearoom asked me to redesign the menu. In order to produce more for the same amount I split a 8.5 x 11 page into 8.5 x 5.5 so they could print out two menus in one sheet of paper.  I used the colors that are painted on the walls of the tearoom and the image on the cover is one they already use on their facebook page. I just fiddled with the type until I got it to be spaced out nicely. Not too fond of the yellow color as the header for the pricings, but it works.

Since I’m not wiccan, I follow a spirituality that is based on eastern influences more so than pagan or wiccan influences. Its’ a personal “mysticism”. I fell in love with the look of a grimoire but wanted something that fit me stylistically better. I found this cool stencil at AC Moore and it was a swastika which is a perfect symbol to represent the way I see the world, but it is stylized and not obvious. I found the corner adornments at michaels as well as the leather. I wanted a journal where I could print things out and take pages out if I needed to. I think one of the many reasons why I don’t fill a bounded journal is because I hate writing, but typing I don’t mind. SO I’m going to print out pages from my blog and things I find on the internet. It’ll be nice to have a physical journal of my spiritual experiences. I just need to find a lock… 🙂

So I came up with a name for my package design concept that I had in mind: Provisions Potions! Provisions is another name for supplies, groceries, etc. Its actually used in French to mean just that. Since this design concept is to use the aesthetic of potions and the action of cooking/alchemy Provisions would be best. I went with stripes because it reminded me of the layers of food in the mason jar. Not sure if I like the potion bottles next to the P or not. Will see what it looks like on the computer first. I’m thinking of buying this type of bottle for the project. The shape of the bottle is very important as it that will help invoke the mysterious of a potion bottle. I do realize that there are many companies out there that have “to-go” products. But this isn’t exactly a design for a ‘to-go’ product, its to store the rations until they are ready to use.

Here are three necklaces I did over the weekend. It feels good to just create something. I’ve been too distracted by heavy emotions lately to really focus on anything significant. This doesn’t require much effort so I can always do this.

I designed an employment mandala to use in my meditative work to encourage and channel these energies. I seriously need all the encouragement/help I can get. Why not ask the energies to help me out too?

I followed the traditional way to create a mandala using this tutorial and included symbols from the 36 tattvas such as, “Moving” and “Desire”. I included symbols to represent moving, as well as my field (CMYK) and added the skyline from the city I want to work. Let’s see if it does something!

This is the design I did for the 2012 Cosmic Convergence Festival that Giorgio A. Tsoukalos (from Ancient Aliens) and his goonies are hosting. I hope I win. I doubt it but this is what I came up with. I don’t think the colors are what they’re after but I think the theme is appropriate enough. I find out next week.

I’m glad it seems like my skills aren’t slipping through my fingers. I just really haven’t been motivated, energized or inspired enough to do much freelancing. Being constantly rejected from employers doesn’t do well on my confidence in my work. I just seem to have lost everything that was going for me during the last semester of college. Its frustrating, I just hope that sacrificing a good portion of my social life for my future career doesn’t go to waste and I end up landing a job at someplace awesome soon. Sigh.

So I inherited my grandma’s jewelry collection her older things as well as the stuff I made her. Here are the bracelets.

Found this shroom growing outside my families’ beach house. Thought it would look nice with some photoshop magic 🙂 It felt nice to just do creative work again. I’ve been feeling kinda low. Been dealing with a bad rejection as well as being constantly rejected from jobs doesn’t do well on my creative spirit. I’m trying to maintain some stability but its been difficult. I just want my life again.
