Introducing Aquaware!

When I first moved out to western Mass, I lived in the town I live in now for a short while looking for a more permanent living situation. That was also the time I was finally in a place mentally and emotionally about my work where I could start doing projects for myself rather than for a company.

So I bought a water testing kit, went outside where there was a body of water and got to work. The visions I had with this was to turn this project into some sort of art and science abomination where it assumed artistic qualities while also promoting scientific methodologies. 

I gathered my data and went inside and that was that. This project laid dormant for awhile since I struggled trying to come up with an artistic concept for it as well. Eventually, I had a silly but potential concept – taking the shape of the body of water the water test was done in and then turn that into something… but the water testing would be obsolete and unnecessary. 

I then discovered a sale not to long ago for a 3D printer built with crafters and people like myself in mind. Who want to 3D print but don’t want the tech behind it (i.e building it yourself). I jumped on the sale and yay acquired one of the pieces of equipment I had been seeking! 

But then to figure out the 3D modeling aspect. I took 3D modeling in college, so it’s been like 10 years since I thought about that. It’s something I don’t typically use being a graphic designer. But eventually I found a tool I think would work well for me. It produced a STL file of the graphic assets from the water testing and I was able to make a vase from that. 

Now, the colors from the water test of that body of water I did initially could dictate how these vases will look visually, however they aren’t the most aesthetically pleasing colors curated together. Although a few of them I think some people can get behind. 

Yay! This project materialized into something tangible. I just now have to purchase the prototype filament for the first print of this vase and to see how I’m going to add the colors. Buying filament for each color will get expensive so I don’t think I’m going to go that route, but buying paint for each color may just be as expensive. 

So introducing – Aquaware! The home decor line for my vase project. It may eventually include other type of products from the home decor category but for now it will just have 3D printed vases. Maybe it may be more of my 3D printed line… who knows.

Imaging: AI Generated Art – the Devas

Once upon a time, ancient Dhara (earth) was a thriving civilization in every sense of the word. Upon it, lived beings of supreme evolution. One might even describe them as being ‘godlike’. They understood the under workings of the universe and held immense knowledge and spiritual power. They are Æternal, Ætheral beings who came from distant lands. They were granted the power of creation and set out to Dhara to rejuvenate life.

They developed writing systems that consisted of symbols and pictorial icons in which they encrypted the information and knowledge they knew. As time traveled on, soon it was time for them to leave Dhara. Opening doorways, these supreme ‘godlike’ creatures ascended into the Heavens and disappeared from Dhara entirely leaving their offspring to evolve and fend for themselves, until it was time for their return.

Through my understanding of this universe, the Devas are our creators. For my website I wanted to take a less logical approach and include more storytelling an art, as I’m not a traditional artist I turned to AI generated art. These figures that came from it took my breath away as they are exactly how I envision a Deva/Devi.

Since it’s AI art, I can’t exactly claim it as my own but it’s not owned by a human either. However, I can sell the images and incorporate them into my brand as stock imagery.

Studio Wrap Up 2022

It’s been awhile since I did one of these. A lot has happened for me in the last couple years and months. More recently, I moved to Amherst, MA last winter and have been job searching since Oct 2022. I worked at a few jobs here and there but nothing too long term. Just this month however I finally accepted a job as a Digital Marketing Manager at a specialty food store in Springfield, MA. I’m super excited to start working but also more excited that this will PROPEL my life forward, so much has been waiting to initiate due to a lack of job. Because of such, I’m going to take a bit of a step back on freelancing multimedia work and transition my focus to my online store, YouTube channel, trailer project and my blogs and other projects I have going on.

This year has so far been terrible. In January my move was hard and difficult. The pipes burst again in my old apartment building and destroyed the remainder of my stuff. February I got really sick and I’m convinced part of it was from the stress of the move. March, I learned my trailer project had to be moved so I spent the next two months making that happen. April, I ended a significant relationship in my life, in May, my beloved kitty – Leo – passed away. By the end of June, I adopted another one. July I had car trouble which resulted in $3k+ in repairs after just going in for an oil change. So the news of my job has been a huge blessing and stress reliever.

One project I have been working on is my field station – Bher Dheigh Field Station. I’ve been meeting with potential collaborators and locations throughout the region. You should check the page out as there is a map with these locations… I’m REALLY excited where this project is headed. I’ve also become a mentor to an initiative called the Art and Soul of Ukraine. It started with raising money for the medical and protective supplies for the frontlines of Ukraine, now they are continuing that work and helping artists heal from the traumas of war.

Be sure to stick around as there will be some exciting new developments regarding my studio work and business overall. Lots of new equipment and learning new things.

I was going through my audio library and recently rediscovered two flute pieces I composed and recorded in high school. I was really into Native American music at the time and spiritual music in general. I didn’t have proper recording equipment but turned out pretty well regardless.
