After my 6-week trip to Europe for my residency in Greve in Chianti, I spent about a week in Paris. The lovelock phenomenon is when a couple at a point in their relationship travels to Europe and buys a lock as a ceremonious and symbolic act of ‘sealing’ their relationship. However, due to the popularity of this symbolic motion the infamous ‘lovelock’ bridge was taken down due to the weight of the locks in Paris. These bridges are often considered historical landmarks and upset locals as they are often destroyed.
