Job Reading for Summer

Curious about my financial situation this summer, I did a reading:

Page of Wands

The Page of Wands can be used to identify a young person with a rather melancholy outlook. Alternately, some readers interpret this card to mean a near relative or a close friend of the querent. When the Page of Wands represents a new event, the event may concern work or business. Maybe a new work project. In a reading regarding spiritual issues, the Page of Wands could indicate a spiritual aspect to a practical matter. For instance, a trip the querent is about to undertake for business reasons may bring a new spiritual meaning to the person’s life in an unexpected manner. The Page of Wands could also indicate a new beginning of an practical, business or career nature, such as a new job, a new development in the person’s career field. Some readers also interpret the Page of Wands as a possible new residence.

Pages are often archetypes for messengers.

Judgement

Judgement is about rebirth. In the present position, the Justice card represents a situation facing you that requires a decision. The card alone does not indicate the specific nature of the decision you are being moved to make. It could be a decision involving your educational future, your love life, the path a good friendship might be taking, the purchase or selling of real estate, taking a particular job – it could be something epic in your life plan or something that appears to be a small decision in the scheme of things. The presence of the Justice card in your Tarot reading indicates that your coming decision is an irreversible one and that your free will in making it will be a force that pours a foundation on which the rest of your life may be setting.

Holy Moses! This card is totally describing my life right now and to come. My parents just bought a house on Cape Cod and we’ll be spending the summer furnishing it and settling in it. I haven’t forgotten the reading the psychic I saw last summer said about a forthcoming relationship. I’m taking classes this summer so I can graduate next semester..

The decision by force is interesting, I’m kinda forced to take french this summer… and hmm! Two cards indicate a job…

Temperance

This card is mostly about Balance. But on a more Yin/Yang notation. It’s not like the Justice card where I see that as more of a balance of physical means.

It appears that I’m going to have a very good summer!

Adolf and Osama

Osama bin Laden dead
“Justice has been done,” President Obama says in a televised speech to the nation. Bin Laden, mastermind behind the Sept. 11 attacks and Al Qaeda leader, was killed by a CIA-led team at a compound inside Pakistan

Hooray for justice! The scale has been balanced! Hooray for Beltane! Beltane, like Samhain, is a time of “no time” when the veils between the two worlds are at their thinnest. No time is when the two worlds intermingle and unite and the magic abounds!

What is going on here?

Adolf and Osama both announced dead on the same day 66 years apart?

Aye.

In Qabbalitic terms, 66 is part of the number 666 which is a number of the Sacrificer. The word Holocaust is of greek origin meaning “Sacrifice by fire”. Adolf in esoteric sense was a man of sacrifice. He took a bunch of people of similar origin and sacrificed them… to the more naive (I.E the general public) this can also be seen as destruction. Who else in history were sacrificers? How about the Mayan Toltecs? The Mayan Toltec god, Quetzalcoatl was described as a white man, with a beard, who wore long robes, and who gave a message of love, forbidding the blood sacrifice, teaching of the One Supreme God, and giving the Toltecs many material things of their culture, such as the calendar.

But what did Adolf sacrifice for? Only God knows, but based on his flag, it could very be the wave/particle duality as the ancient Vedic swastika suggests. The mystics of the Vedic civilization discovered the swastika and aumkara. The swastika illustrates a principle very similar to the spherical wave structure of matter.

Osama was a man who was accused of the the September 11th attacks, which is an event with much symbolism, in this event, many people died within a burning building, again by fire. But this also relates to the Royal wedding (wetting) which I’ll show…

A Seraph (‘winged or fiery serpent’), Quetzalcoatl (KATES-ALL-CO-OUGHT-ALL), the feathered serpent’ of Mayan tradition. The Royal Bride (the word Royal is also very symbolic in subliminal messaging) wore a long sleeved white dress designed by Sarah Burton of the Haus of Alexander McQueen (who is also Lady Gaga’s designer).

According to subliminal message language,

ORION = ROYAL ION = ROSE ION or the electrically charged ION that ROSE to disconnect WISDOM and REALITY from our eternal state of being.

Kate, wore a white dress, White has many symbolic meanings, however according to subliminal messaging:

white bull, white cloud, white house, white rock, white linen, white dog, white sands, white mountains, white dunes, etc. The word white refers to the bright WHITE glowing of the constellation ORION

Kate is a white woman, in british slang dressing garments are called robes. Kate bares a message of love…

This next month will be an interesting one…

History of Photo Processes work

So I’m sharing what I’ve been slaving my way through these past two weeks trying to get work done for this class.

I *do* have a working pinhole camera, but my b/w photo skills are absolute crap because I’ve only had one photo class and it was in senior year of high school, and even then, i didn’t learn much. I need to practice, I love photography, but I just don’t have the equipment…

So here is what I did instead of pinhole negatives. I used digital negatives, basically printed out an inverted b/w photo on regular paper w/ a regular inkjet printer and waxed the back. I used some of my best digital photography, some personal shots, and family photos. You know how when you spill oil on paper and it becomes transparent? Well beeswax does that and it allows you to make the back of paper transparent so you can make a negative.

I really enjoy doing this, I need to find some emulsion that is easy to reproduce and do more…

But really with this class you need to get your coating skills set and I think that’s what he’s looking for more than anything..

Now off to get something to eat, and go to sleep cause I’m making myself wake up at 7:30 am in the morning to be right at the lab at 9 am so I can stay on top of shit. If I don’t the earliest would be Saturday, and that’s actually kinda late.

So while in this class today, there was a tour group that came in and observed the class and a random man looked over my work and said, “I like what I’m seeing.” He doesn’t know it, and maybe he knows something about photography, but just hearing those words come out of a complete stranger made my freaking day. My professor hasn’t seen a lot of my work so I have no idea what he thinks…!

And into the Void came a Thought… reflections

So I have been meaning to reflect on the following quote:

“Know ye, O Thoth, in the beginning there was a VOID and nothingness, a timeless, spaceless, nothingness. And into the nothingness came a thought, purposeful, all-prevading, and it filled the VOID… In the beginning, there was eternal thought, and for thought to be eternal, time must exist. So into the all-prevading thought grew the Law of Time… Time changes not, but all things change in time. For time is the force that holds events separate, each in its own proper place. Time is not in motion, but ye move through time as your consciousness moves from one event to another. Aye, by time yet exist, all in all an eternal one existence. Know ye that even though in the time ye are separate, yet still are ONE, in all times existent… within thee is all time and space.” – The Emerald Tablet

The Emerald Tablet, also known as Smaragdine Table, Tabula Smaragdina, or The Secret of Hermes, is a text purporting to reveal the secret of the primordial substance and its transmutations. It is one of many of the different mystical texts that supposedly contains the Ultimate Truth. Thoth is the Egyptian God, THOUGHT who was known in many traditions as Hermes, Merlin and Enoch. The Hebrew Bible, is said to be based off of jewish mysticism. But a very shortened version of the texts… the compact and cryptic text was highly regarded by European alchemists as the foundation of their art, in particular of its Hermetic tradition.

Genesis 1:3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Its interesting that the writer of the Emerald Tablets, states that we all perceive time and space within ourselves. So this means that time and space outside our body does not exist.

Its also interesting to note that many of these ancient tablets were written in stone, the fabled, Ten Commandments, the Emerald Tablet, etc. According to Light Stream Technologies,

Stones have a great hidden purpose in nature. They possess a great untapped power. They have memory! Stones hold vibrations and they can transmit vibrations!

The mystery is the greatest unknown secret of the Stone Masons of the highest 33rd degree. Stone has electrical capacitance, and where there is electrical capacity, memory and vibration can be stored. God placed a secret vibration in the stone to allow humans to contact the Divine.

Even though there is aesthetic beauty in stone masonry, architecture and design of the spiritual temples of all religions, we strayed away from God’s purpose in placing spiritual vibration in stone by instead placing symbols, letters, design and numbers in stone, giving these symbols more importance than spiritual vibration.

One translation, by Isaac Newton, found among his alchemical papers as reported by B. J. Dobbs in modern spelling:

1. Tis true without lying, certain most true.
2. That which is below is like that which is above that which is above is like that which is below to do the miracles of one only thing.
3. And as all things have been arose from one by the mediation of one: so all things have their birth from this one thing by adaptation.
4. The Sun is its father, the moon its mother,
the wind hath carried it in its belly, the earth its nurse.
5. The father of all perfection in the whole world is here.
6. Its force or power is entire if it be converted into earth.
7. Separate thou the earth from the fire, the subtle from the gross sweetly with great industry.
8. It ascends from the earth to the heaven again it descends to the earth and receives the force of things superior and inferior.
9. By this means ye shall have the glory of the whole world thereby all obscurity shall fly from you.
10. Its force is above all force. for it vanquishes every subtle thing and penetrates every solid thing.
So was the world created.
11. From this are and do come admirable adaptations whereof the means (Or process) is here in this.
12. Hence I am called Hermes Trismegist, having the three parts of the philosophy of the whole world.
13. That which I have said of the operation of the Sun is accomplished and ended.

Designed… again

So I finally designed a layout that I’m pleased with. I think it reflects a lot of my design style, if I even have one yet.. lol. I was struggling to find something that was between ancient and modern which is essentially what my logo reflects, as well as my thought-process and other things. -phew-

Did you know Easter Eggs are Ancient Egyptian?

Happy Easter! I’m not doing much, I just slept in cause I won’t be getting much sleep from here until finals. It was nice. I woke up to find this article from the I’m into Egyptology page on facebook. Enjoy!

Monday 25 April marks Sham El-Nasim, which Copts celebrate as part of Easter, but is one of the few days that Egyptians of all religions celebrate – since ancient times

Celebrated since 2700 BC by all Egyptians regardless of their religion, beliefs, and social status, the name Sham El-Nasim (Inhaling the breeze) is derived from the Coptic language that, in turn, is derived from the ancient Egyptian language. Originally pronounced Tshom Ni Sime, with tshom meaning “gardens” and ni sime meaning “meadows.”

Like most ancient Egyptian feasts, Sham El-Nasim was also affiliated with astronomy and nature. It marks the beginning of the spring festival, which is the time they believed day and night are equal, (when the sun is in the Aries zodiac) hence marking the beginning of creation. They confirm the exact date annually by sighting the sun in relation to the great pyramid. Ancient Egyptians named it The Feast of Shmo (the revival of life) and have officially celebrated it since 2700BC.

At the crack of dawn Egyptians usually leave their homes to have a picnic with their families in meadows and gardens to enjoy the breeze. On this national holiday the traditional Sham El-Nasim meal consists of fish, onions and eggs.

Fish was highly respected in ancient Egyptian beliefs. Salted mullet fish (known as fesikh), was offered to the gods in Esna in Upper Egypt to the extent that Esna’s ancient name was Lathpolis, which was the name of the original fish before it is salted.

As for colouring eggs, it’s a custom mentioned in the pharaoh’s famous Book of the Dead and in Akhenaton’s chants, “God is one, he created life from the inanimate and he created chicks from eggs.” Hence, the egg was a symbol of life to ancient Egyptians

Ancient Egyptians would boil eggs on Sham El-Nasim eve, decorate and colour them in various patterns, then write their wishes on these eggs, tuck them in baskets made of palm fronds and hang them on trees or the roof of their houses in hopes that the gods would answer their wishes by dawn.

The habit of eating onions on that day is equally ancient. According to Egyptian legends, one of the pharaoh’s daughters had an incurable disease. Doctors were clueless until a high priest started giving her a few drops of onion juice. Her condition improved and her father, thrilled, named that day “the onion coalition day.” That day people would roam the city of Menf and offer onions to their dead.

As for flowers and plants, ancient Egyptians considered them holy and the lotus flower was actually the symbol of the country in ancient times.

In ancient Egypt, families would combine all of these: they would gather on the eve of Sham El-Nasim to colour the boiled eggs, prepare the fesikh and onion, some hanging the onions on their door steps to ward off evil spirits and putting them under their grandchildren’s pillows that night to summon the god Sukar. Before dawn, people would head to meadows, gardens and the Nile river bank to watch the sunrise while carrying food and flowers. They spend their day out in the open air, joyfully singing away the hours.

Little has changed since the time of the Pharaohs, apparently.

Happy Sham El-Nasim!

George Washington’s Mysterious Encounter

“Looking up, I beheld standing opposite me a singularly beautiful female. So astonished was I, for I had given strict orders not to be disturbed that it was some moments before I found language to inquire the cause of her presence. A second, a third, and even a fourth time did I repeat my question, but received no answer from my mysterious visitor except a slight raising of her eyes. By this time I felt strange sensations spreading through me. I would have risen but the riveted gaze of the being before me rendered volition impossible. I assayed once more to address her, but my tongue itself had become paralyzed. A new influence, mysterious, potent, irresistible, took possession of me. All I could do was to gaze steadily, vacantly at my unknown visitant. Gradually the surrounding atmosphere seemed as though becoming filled with sensations, and grew luminous. Everything about me seemed to rarify, the mysterious vistor herself becoming more airy and yet more distinct to my sight than before. I now began to feel as one dying, or rather to experience the sensations which I have sometimes imagined accompany dissolution. I did not think, I did not reason, I did not move; All were alike impossible. I was only conscious of gazing fixedly, vacantly at my companion.

“Presently I heard a voice saying, ‘Son of the Republic, look and learn,’ while at the same time my visitor extended her arm eastwardly. I now beheld a heavy white vapor at some distance rising fold upon fold. This gradually dissipated, and I looked upon a strange scene. Before me lay spread out in one vast plain all the countries of the world–Europe, Asia, Africa and America. I saw rolling and tossing between Europe and America the billows of the Atlantic and between Asia and America lay the Pacific. ‘Son of the Republic,’ said the same mysterious voice as before, ‘look and learn,’ At that moment I beheld a dark, shadowy being, like an angel, standing, or rather floating in mid-air, between Europe and America. Dipping water out of the ocean in the hollow of each hand, he sprinkled some upon America with his right hand, While with his left hand he cast some on Europe. Immediately a cloud raised from these countries, and joined in mid-ocean. For a while it remained stationary, and then moved slowly westward, until it enveloped America in its murky folds. Sharp flashes of lightning gleamed through it at intervals, and I heard the smothered groans and cries of the American people. A second time the angel dipped water from the ocean, and sprinkled it out as before. The dark cloud was then drawn back to the ocean, in whose heaving billows it sank from view. A third time I heard the mysterious voice saying, ‘Son of the Republic, look and learn,’ I cast my eyes upon America and beheld villages and towns and cities springing up one after another until the whole land form the Atlantic to the Pacific was dotted with them. Again, I heard the mysterious voice say, ‘Son of the Republic, the end of the century cometh, look and learn.’

Luxatone: the Color Organ, turning sound in color

Source: http://www.rosicrucians.org/salon/inventions/inventions.html
H Spencer Lewis

Among H Spencer Lewis’ many talents
was that of designer and builder of unusual electrical inventions and prototypes
for the purpose of demonstrating the mystical principles and natural
law found in the teachings. If he were alive today he would probably
be called a hardware hacker in the best sense of the term.
When the first AMORC Rosicrucian Temple
was opened in 1915 in New York City it had a ‘wireless’ radio with HSL
often putting on headphones and scanning the airwaves to hear what was
out there.
Indeed, part of the description of a Rosicrucian
throughout the ages is a mystic who can embrace new technologies to
help spread the Light.    Modern Rosicrucians have adapted
the new Internet technology in much the same way to stay in touch, participate
in forums, distribute materials, get research help, learn about local
activities and visit web sites like this one.
So, with the goal of inspiring others
to find new ways to use new technologies to spread the Light I offer
for your entertainment this collection of strange devices from the night
gallery of the occult.
organ
The Color Organ was a device that converted
portions of the audio spectrum into portions of the color light spectrum.
The microphone was used to input speech or music and the display screen
would display the colors and their intensity in sync.   The
man on the left is Ralph M. Lewis before he became the 2nd Imperator
of AMORC.
It’s primary use was to demonstrate
the Cosmic Keyboard as taught by AMORC that there are octaves of manifestation
and that each musical note has a harmonic correspondence to a specific
color in a higher octave.
The design principle was fairly simple
though innovative for it’s time.   The screen was a triangular
box with a translucent piece of glass on the front.  Within the
box in each corner was a red, blue or green colored light bulb whose light
would glow and be visible through the glass viewing screen.
Organ

Within the console itself was a complex
circuit built from vacuum tubes and radio components.  There was
one primary detection channel or circuit.   When a sound frequency
was detected via the microphone the circuit would measure the frequency
and power the colored light bulbs in combination to mix the desired color.
The three light bulbs represented the three primary colors from which
all other colors could be mixed by lighting the bulbs in varying intensity
with the blended color appearing in the center of the triangular display.

The guts of the Luxatone
with vacuum tubes and a hefty power transformer.

cover
     After the Luxatone was demonstrated
with success this booklet was published and sent out to members of the Order
and the newspapers.  Here’s scans
of the complete booklet.

If you were in college in the 1960’s
or 70’s you may have owned a modern version of the Luxatone sold by
Radio Shack that connected to the speaker terminals of your stereo and
blinked colored lights in rhythm with the music.  Far out, man!
And a very entertaining scientific demonstration of the Cosmic Keyboard
principles.
One other thing….. the Luxatone built
by H Spencer Lewis bears a surprising resemblance to the ‘Interoscitor’,
a communications device built by space aliens in the 1950’s sci-fi classic
movie This Island Earth.  Take a look and see what you
think!  🙂

The Cosmic Ray Coincidence Counter

CRCC

The Cosmic Ray Coincidence Counter appears
to have been a very early prototype of a Geiger counter to detect and
register ambient levels of radioactivity which at that time in the 1930’s
was still an largely unknown frequency spectrum and scientific mystery.
Just as radio had years earlier proven
that speech and music could be transmitted via an unseen and wireless
‘ether’ it could now use that same radio technology to contact and demonstrate
the existence of an even high rate of vibration that was closer still
to the divine vibration of creation.
CRCC

The two long tubes on the front were
used as transducers to detect the Cosmic Ray particles just like a radio
antenna or sensor probe of a giggler counter.  These were rotated
and adjusted along with the dials to set the frequency range and detection
sensitivity.
Now if you  look carefully at the
photos showing the rear of the unit you’ll see a  vacuum tube driven
radio receiver and audio amplifier connected to a round speaker from
which the audience could actually hear the Cosmic Ray particles.
The metal box on the bottom shelf was the AC power supply.
This device was used for demonstration
purpose at conventions and RCU during the late 1930’s to early 1940’s
to demonstrate the existence of higher frequency manifestations and the
ability to contact these forces through the use of the principles of attunement.

Sympathetic Vibration Harp

Harp
   One of the keystone teachings
of AMORC was the principle of resonance or sympathetic vibration which simply
states that one object vibrating at a particular frequency with resonate
with another object that is also tuned to the same frequency.

     H. Spencer Lewis built a simple harp from wood with
12 strings tuned to the 12 musical notes of the scale. You would then strike
one of the tuning forks and hold it close to the strings so the one string
tuned to that note would sound.  Pitch pipes were also used as were violin
bows stroked against a pane of glass (see above).

Here’s a paper on Chromoacoustics: The Science of Sound and Color

And into the Void came a Thought

Know ye that even though in the time ye are separate, yet still are ONE, in all times existent… within thee is all time and space.” – The Emerald Tablets

End of semester melt down here we go…

I am so freaking frustrated.

Jeff and the art department agreed to have the lab open today from 12 pm -5 pm for people to do work over Easter break. I got there no later than 12:15 pm and it was not open. Someone else was already there and was probably there at 12 pm. I waited for an HOUR for lab assistants to show up (you need one in order to work). No one showed!!!!! I have been stressed out for a month and a half and I can’t take it anymore. I don’t get stressed out easily, but if I have been stressed for that long, it starts to get to me. I have so much work that needs to be done for that class, I’m frustrated that all it won’t be the best it can be.

I have to get 5 cyanotype prints done – which I have but aren’t that great.
I need 2 more van dyke brown prints. (5 total)
And 3 more salt prints. (5 total)

Plus a self-portrait collage of a series of 3-5 photos.

I have negatives made and everything, paper coated and everything I just need to print! -bangs head on wall-
